Notes from Church 2.0 Nashville

2admin20th Mar 2009Posts

I gained lots of inspiration from today’s Church 2.0 conference and the ministry of Greg Atkinson. These are my free form notes from the morning session.

  • Nashville is considered a social media savvy city … who knew?
  • Use technology to listen to the pulse of innovation, emerging ministry and needs of the people. Personal take away: take the chance to reach out to people hurting in your social media universe.
Pioneers aren’t afraid of risk and failure.
  • Life streaming is a recorded history of your life online. My children and grandchildren will have the opportunity to have a deeper understanding of me after I pass away. As a result, funerals in the future will look much different.
  • Some people view innovation as imitation. Careful not to copy and consider it as innovative.
  • Innovation comes in times of inspiration, conversation, frustration and desperation.
  • Innovation often comes from the guy who says, “Do we always have to do it that way?”
  • Pioneers aren’t afraid of risk and failure.

nashville is a tech savy city. you need to hang with me matt. i’ll introduce you to some folks.

i don’t like those traditional statments that say doing ritual/traditional processes are bad. the better question is, “why is doing it this way important to us?” if you can’t answer that to your satisfaction then you need to find something that does give you a better answer.

It’s cool that people are able to receive the credit loans moreover, this opens up new chances.
